Description
Central Scholarship (www.central-scholarship.org) was founded in 1924 and helps students achieve their academic and professional goals through grants and interest-free loans to attend accredited institutions.

The goal of this program is to enroll groups of motivated and promising Baltimore City residents in career training programs in pharmacy tech and commercial driving. The training will be conducted by the Community College of Baltimore County.
The cost of the training will be funded by grants. Each student will be expected to invest up to $200 in the tools and/or texts required by their program.

Requirements
Central Scholarship’s income guideline for this program is a family adjusted gross income of $66,000 or less. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and have earned a high school diploma or a G.E.D.

Application Process
Once the online application is completed, students selected as semi-finalists will be contacted by e-mail only and may be required to come to an interview at the Central Scholarship offices.
Documentation of address, income, citizenship, and secondary school completion must be provided at the interview. We also request that you bring a recommendation from a teacher, employer, or member of the community.

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
  • Maryland Resident (or live inside of two hundred miles of Baltimore City)
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Family income under $90,000
  • GPA of 2.7 or upper to be competitive
  • Enrolled in, or applying to,  an authorised US college/college
